Nappa leather is a type of full-grain leather and was first made by Emanuel Manasse in 1875. Manasse worked for a tanning company in Napa, California – hence the name. Nappa leather is tanned using a specialist chemical process which produces a leather which retains the beauty of the original hide but is extremely soft and flexible.
Sheep and lamb nappa leather are generally used for high end luxury goods including gloves, bags and wallets.
