I like the quality of the tools and the selection is ideal for wallets and such. I like the variety of mixed leather that came with it. I think I prefer working the thicker leathers and looking forward to increasing my confidence and skills in leather craft as it’s really creative and rewarding to do.

The set is a really good introduction to leather crafting and provides a solid starting point for beginners. The only reason I have given four stars instead of five is that, as the set is marketed as a “Starter Kit,” I expected the cardholder project to involve making the wallet from scratch using many of the tools included in the kit, rather than working with pre-cut pieces.

We completely understand your point regarding the cardholder project. We chose to include pre-cut pieces to make the first project a little more approachable and enjoyable for those completely new to leathercraft. That said, the kit does also include leather offcuts, which can be used to practise techniques or create your own projects from scratch.

Tools seem of good quality. The card holder project is an excellent starter project and very rewarding. Everything you need to get started, however there is no Tokonole included, yet it is referenced in the instructions for the card holder project. I would recommend getting some as it makes a big difference to the finish of your project but it is not required.

I purchased the ultimate leather starter kit as a Christmas present for my daughter in law, when it arrived everything was just thrown into the box which wasn't even big enough for the mat. Very poor value for money at £110. Would not recommend.
Looks like a quality tool kit,everything you need for your first few projects, and a precut wallet to practice sewing on , I am pleased with my purchase.
